180psi compresstion test.

Hey guys was looking at a jdm ej205.
Seller says tested at 180psi.
Seems kinda high. Red flag?

Garage
More is better but that reading seems high. JDM engines have more boost but not likely more static compression.

For the USDM EJ205 the compression test standards are (static compression 8:1):

Compression (350 rpm and fully open throttle):

Standard
981 -1,177 kPa (142 - 171 psi)

Limit (too low)
882 kPa (128 psi)

Difference between cylinders
Less than 49 kPa (7 psi)

Why don't you ask him to share the documented results of the compression test?

Yeah I've seen a few average 150psi so that's what made me think about this one.

Thanks LW.
