'07 WRX engine

Is this engine 'sleeved' from the factory or will an 'over-bore' be required for fitment?

Semi-closed deck and not sleeved. Let me find my old post...

EDIT: EJ22T Sleeved to 2.5
Oh and don't even try to find AxisPower/Raw1Performance/or Ron...its not worth it.

Thanks. Look at me I am already making a "parts list" for a car I do not even own yet!! Coming from always having cast iron blocks I felt it best that I check with you guys.

The semi closed is pretty stout, it's the pistons that are sometimes crap. The third gens have less piston and transmission issues though.

I feel better now knowing that the block is 'semi-closed' and not 'floating/ open deck'. When I had my MR2T engine rebuilt I went with JE pistons but kept the stock rods since they have supported 600rwhp but I will definitely go with forged rods with the WRX. I am fortunate that I personally know a tuner who even has F1 experience but unfortunate that he is so expensive but then again you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the help.

I can confirm and let you be assured you are not going to break the stock STi rods in one of these motors easily...The blocks, even the open deck, are pretty stout and I have run upwards of 30psi through a WRX motor and the piston is what died...stupid stupid stupid....

I do not know yet as I highly doubt I will do any mods other than a performance air filter and maybe a muffler until I pay the car off, one step at a time . My friend is Kris K. who owns 'Engine Logics' and I have know him since '98. I trust him and know I will get great service but I may be living in Baytown by then working full time for Precinct 3 Constables and they want their officers to live within the precinct. So access may be limited.

We'll see.
