Question June 10th Flashlight Drags

I gotta know. How did it go Manics? I really wanted to go but I couldn't get the girl to take me up to watch. There is always the next one though.

Hey Bro. Went good, I left early though so I did not stay to race in the Top 8 tuners. There was a SICK evo claiming 400+WHP, I bogged my launch and ended up loosing by maybe a car length so IF he was 400+whp and so claimed high 10s low 11s im not to upset about loosing (meaning i might be in mid to low 12s) but hey i g2 run I will post more once I get a chance and I got SOME video. Not much but I can post it, I also got a nice run in with a 73 vette and walked his ass up to 120MPH lol I will post more later g2g to graduation party (FUN )

Oh yea I ran a Stage 2 STI last night as well. 1st run I won... 2nd run HE beat me out of the hole and then ended up taking the win by about half a car length. NOT bad considering my car still has the TD04 but you can tell he had a Stage 2 VF39 for sure. Im not complaining thought my WRX did DAMN good compared to a stage 2 STI

I was easy on you

Yeah first run I missed a gear. When it did go into gear it went into 6 LOL
Second run I launched ok. I coulda shifted better. I need to work on my shifting points.
I noticed in the right lane I would get wheel hop and the left lane I would spin almost the whole way in first. I don't like wheel hop....afraid something is gonna break

Good runs! I was quite surprised that your REX could hang with me. How much WHP are you putting down? I'm guessing the Protune gets you pretty close to the WHP of a stg 2 STi and you don't have to shift as much which is nice.

It was nice to meet you. Car looks good!

Now we def. Need to make a car cruise to the next races! That would be cool having 5 or 6 wrx's just cruising to the drags to the next flash light drags.

Hey there Petty, glad to see you took my invite!

Man I thought FOR SURE you would eat me up by CAR lengths Im quite suprised myself on how well I HUNG. I figured you either blotched the shift or missed it lol I was thinking "O shyt im ahead! " lol

The numbers are in my sig. I plan on changing that tho REAL soon. Welcome to the forums bro glad you stopped by. You plan on attending the next event? We want to get a nice cruise going so if your game we can all meet. With you Kjot and 3 of my other buds that would be kick ass. 6 scoobies or so...fun times.

I have some decent photos of the even, I need to Down size them BIG TIME to post them.. I will try to do that tonight.. I have the Rebel Digit and it does the (3) frames per second and I got a sweet set of photos of Chris (Manics) Walking out of the hole and away from an SRT-4.. It was NICE.. .. I just wish I could have stayed to see it all.

And I love saying this.. Chris, I told you so on the Vette..

02 WRX.. "It's fun when it runs.. Problem is that it hardly ever does..."

hahaa Yea Ken, handed him his ass

Moe I cant post that video of the vetter its consider street racing

Plus you were a BIT late on getting the camera ready all u can see is vettes driver side door and then its hood, then you look in the mirror and see it behind us REAL fast
He got ownd either way.

haha check this out fellas. I ran this dude at the clarion event he was in the top 8......

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/arch...ds-inside.html

I like how he said "Sleeper" that wrx was a SLEEPER hahaa

lmao insert from the scion forums

Boosted06 wrote: Nice runs man. It would have been nicer if you were closer but oh well. You said the only mod u have is the pulley. Not bad at all. What did the wrx have done to it. I used to own one I traded for the scion

He said he just had a turbo-back exhaust. Other than his huge, bright red brakes, his car was a sleeper. I don't think he lost all day. If you watch the beginning of my RX8 video, the WRX drives by in the lane by the spectators. The announcer was like "those AWD Subarus are nasty fast machines". I found out the hard way. I was pulling on him at the end of the 1/8th, but he toasted me sooo bad at the launch. AWD cars own the 1/8th mile.

I didn't get race an SRT-4, but the Subie did, and I fared much better than the SRT-4.

dang thats a decent amount torque! Nice numbers.

Yeah I have some plans for the STi, but I'm waiting to see what the next STi will come out with before I go for some big mods. My 05 has got 40k miles on it LOL Its time for a new one!

You have to see my other car. 1999 2.5RS with a WRX swap. I got it dynoed and it has 215whp and 230 wtq.......but it weighs about 600 Lbs lighter than a WRX and it has the 4.11 gears. The car is fast. I have only raced it 3 times. Once was against one of those SRt-4's (blue one) at the drags and I beat it pretty bad. I can't launch it like the STi. I need to work on the launching, its hit or miss in that car.

Mods are:
2002 WRX engine
COBB AP stage 2 with the PDX map upgrade
catless upipe/equal length headers
Catless turbo back exhaust
STi ver 5/6 suspension
front and rear sways(Cusco and a rearsway from a Legacy)
front and rear struts towers bars (OMP and Whiteline)
ss brake lines
ss clutch line
exedy stage 1 clutch upgrade
fidanza lightened flywheel
brembo X drilled rotors
Koyo aluminum racing radiator

I think thats about it

If I mod the STi further, the RS will be getting the VF-39

My other Subies have been
'98 RS
'00 RS
'02 WRX
Current
'05 STi
'99 RS

Nice setup petty. Lol the VF39 would be a nice swap onto the RS.

Petty I may be going to pittsburgh park raceway this week "Wednesday" if you want to go and run them. Im intrested in seeing what numbers I could pull. Im hoping I can break 12s.

Thanks for the invite, but I gotta decline. I have school Wednesday nights.

I too have been wanting to see if I can get into the 12's with my STi. My biggest problem is shifting. I suck
