what can I use the clock pod for?

Hey Everyone!

I'm toying with the idea of using the clock pod for something other than gauges.
I would need to fill the empty gauge pack housing seen here:
SubaruProParts.com: Your OEM And Aftermarket Subaru Source (http://subaruproparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=247)

My original idea was to put a new head unit up there, but I've since installed a double-DIN DVD head unit in the normal area. (will be posting a walk-through w/pics soon)

I know there are some extremely creative/inventive people here. Any ideas as to what I can use the clock pod for?? Are there any good examples that you've seen on here or other forums?
I've considered an EQ for the stereo, a radar detector, an old video game system (if it would fit), etc. but I'm completely open to suggestions! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated =]

some pictures of my new bug eye projector headlights

I raped a set of projectors out of a junk set of Lexus headlights to put into a extra set of bugeye headlights that I have. It took a lot of thought to figure out how to mount the projector and still have full use of the factory aiming screws, but I figured it out and I have them all back together. I just have to mount the ballasts, wetsand and buff the lenses, and aim them, then I will post more pictures.

BTW... all the rednecks at my work hate them!

Sti scoop install

hey so i was just about to put a sti scoop on my wrx, and i was wondering what you guys would do.

there is the metal piece under the scoop which flows air into the intercooler, with the notched out spot going to the turbo,
1, I could just cut the part out that fit under the small scoop so that more air flows into the intercooler from the bigger scoop
2. i could cut the sides out from this part and bend it up more so that it still is somewhat directing the air
3. i could just leave the metal peice out completely. and i think they have other ones you can buy to do this anyways.
4. i could leave it the way it is.

has anyone done this on their 02/03 before and what did you do?

I've checked around the internet everywhere and i can't find any help.

so maybe you guys can help! yay!

i want to paint my tail lightsand remove the red plastic part and just put in red bulbs.

i can't get in there though.

baking is a no no.

i guess dremel is the only way in. so here are my questions

1. can i get away with not cutting in between the clear and the black parts and just cut on the back? that way the clear parts and the edges dont get muffed up.

2. whats the smallest cut i can get away with and still pull everything out?

3. what do i use to seal it back up with? will jb weld hold on that type of plastic? i have stuff for windows and what not but it dries into rubbery stuff. and i dont think that will hold.

4. can i use led lights? or should i just find some red 7443's?

can anyone help me or am i :beatentod? (beating a dead horse)

replacing the clock with a radio head unit

Hey everyone. This is my first post here. New owner of an 04 WRX.
I saw a picture yesterday of a radio head unit that had been installed where the dash clock normally sits. It left the entire double-DIN radio area open, but it looked super clean having a single-DIN head unit in place of the clock.
Has anyone seen this done before? Do you have any tips as to how to make it happen?

Thanks!

I just got my car back from the shop where i had the exhaust modified from the turbo back. I added Perrin Cat Back Twin Tip Exhaust. Being new to the modification world, i didn't know how loud each seperate brand of exhaust could be. I was told by the shop where i bought the part and had it mounted that it is on the less noisy side. Its not bad and i am not complaining about the exhaust tune that you hear in the car.

What i was curios to learn is can i add any sound proofing/deadning material to the cabin in order to make it quieter? Has anyone else used any type of product to whether it be spray foam or egg shaped foam pads in the cars panels in order to make the ride inside the cabin quieter?
