so i was slowing down in a left turn lane. and when i put my car into first it didn't slide in smoothly, so like i usually do i just have it a little force... and *POP* it came out of the plastic ball bearing holder like thing. so then i was stuck driving around all night holding the stick in my hand... man what a bitch. so i put it in and before i re-attached the bar at the middle (sorry for lack of name) i noticed that the white part could lift up and down about half an inch or so maybe... being at a friends garage i just bolted it back on and have used it for the last 2 days and it seems to be working okay, it won't lift up or down really now because the middle bar is holding it down i think.. what do you guys think happened and is it a problem i need to buy a part for or what? i was thinking that last time i was under the car there was a clip holding the white plastic part down but it has been a few yrs since i replaced the shifter bushings under there..

I have 2002 wrx. Motor is built ground up. The 3rd gear sync is bad. What all do i need to do to the tranny to make it able to handle all the power from the motor? Do I need to buy a pre built racing tranny?

Hey guys,

My 07 WRX has 24k miles. I live in FL where it is real humid. In the mornings, when I leave for work, the whole 10 mile drive to work is littered with a squeaky noise when I disengage the clutch in all gears, between 1.5 and 3 RPM. Once I get higher, the noise goes away. I tried AC on and off, same result, so it's definitely the clutch somewhere. Any ideas??? Thanks, Derek.

4th gear grind scotty COCKTAIL question.

I have a 06 wrx salvage title with 30,000 on it and im getting a grind into 4th gear when I shift above about 3,000rpms. I have changed the tranny fluid and the oil had no little metal shavings or anything. I was just looking for opinions on the cocktail and if anyone knows where to find the redline lightweight shockproof stuff. i went to autozone and shucks oriely and walmart:) and they all didnt have it. is there anything that is a different brand that does the same thing? i also got a different brand instead of Castrol Hypoy C 80w90 it is 80w90 though. is that ok?

let me know, thanks.
