1. Select a good topic to write about. Installations, How-to's, product reviews, and any other useful technical information that WRX performance enthusiasts would consider useful are preferred. Be sure to include the reasons and benefits for embarking on the project in the first place - i.e. why should others do the modification? does it fix a problem, or make your car faster?

2. Document the subject well and take photos. If you're writing about how to install something, make sure you have all the photos to show what you're talking about. Text by itself is not always very useful. Be very descriptive and detailed. We'll likely remove articles that are very short, or those which don't meet our standards.

3. When writing the article, use "step-by-step" instructions (like we've done here) to make it easy to follow along. You can attach photos at the end of your article - be sure to reference those photos in the text somewhere. It is also useful to place text in the photos you submit to help explain what the photo is about, however, we understand that not everyone has Photoshop or Corel Draw. Just do your best to tie the text and photos together. If you have multiple photos for a step-by-step install you want to post, you'll need to do it one of two ways. Either upload your photos to your own webpage (like your own webpage) and link to them all in one post. Or Attach each image to a post separately - meaning, post one image in your first post and submit the article. Then click the "Add to Article" link to add the photo and text for step Two, and do the same again to attach a photo and text for step Three, etc. Use multiple posts to get all your photos uploaded in your article (almost like replying to your own thread for each step). Please attach photos to your thread instead of linking to photos on other sites - we find that a lot of the time, those photos become lost. Posting them on our site will ensure that they are available for years to come.

When writing a Parts Review/Feedback article, be sure to title the thread with the product you're giving feedback on. Only give feedback on an item installed on your car, which you have tested personally. Also make sure your article is not an installation article - it should be a follow-up on how the part performed, reliability issues, quality issues, installation issues, etc. If the part requires a break-in period, please wait until the break-in period is complete and you've been able to test the product in real world driving situations before submitting feedback. We don't want to see feedback about a product you have not seriously tested yet. The article should not contain customer service or feedback for the retailer you purchased the item from. It should be strictly related to the product and how it performed for your application. Should others buy it or not? We will edit articles that contain vendor feedback.

Guidelines

Written articles only - NO LINKING TO ARTICLES ON OTHER SITES! This section is meant to be an archive of written articles - not links. We don't want links posted because the site you link to could eventually become nonexistent and we will then have a broken link.

All registered members can post a tech article. However, if your article is not well-written, very descriptive and detailed, we may choose to move it to another forum. All questions will be deleted. All links off to other sites will be deleted. Remember, the Tech Article forums are not for public discussions. No replies are allowed - except if you are the original author of the article. We may decide to move threads over from other forums into the archive, but will close them to prevent discussions from taking place.

Update: We'll begin allowing the Wisemen group to add followup comments on all Articles. This is in hopes to create the best and most useful articles possible.

Thanks everyone. Start writing and help us grow this valuable resource!
